We are so excited to collaborate with designer Rachael Rosenblum for this year’s Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse. Rachael’s vision for her space, “The Unseen”, was a surrealist celebration of the secret lives of objects. “Inspired by the mystery and symbolism of tarot, our design of the entryway explores the hidden meanings that give objects—and the spaces we inhabit—their depth.”

To help transport people to another realm, we created custom panels for both the exterior and interior of the elevator. Rachael used the collection we created with Grimaud, the French card maker, as inspiration for the exterior doors, choosing the Three of Wands artwork from their Tarot de Marseille deck.

The elevator exterior is wallpapered in custom panels featuring artwork from Grimaud’s tarot deck.
The interior is covered in a custom edition of our “Harlequin” pattern in Vibrance Peeking (by artist Timothy Cummings). We enlarged the scale to maximize impact. The valance, featuring an appliqué by fiber artist Ali Mac, is an irresistible invitation to enter.

The elevator interior is wallpapered in our ”Harlequin“ in Vibrance Peeking at a custom scale. Upholstered bench by Rachael Rosenblum.
Fallingstar artists Timothy Cummings and Michael Evert also contributed artwork to the space which felt right at home with pieces from Rachael’s furniture collection.
