Our online journal is named after the periodical of the 19th century artists and writers known as The Pre-Raphaelites. Their rebellion against the mechanical nature of the society they were living in was documented in their own “The Germ” and led to the Arts and Crafts movement which forms the foundation of the decorative arts that we know today.
