Sculptor Michael Evert has been creating portrait sculptures for many years, along the way he made many small “medals”, almost sketches in plaster for his larger work. Evert photographed a selection of his large collection of medals to capture the light and shadow effect that these dimensional reliefs create. The result is a trompe-l’oeil pattern of people and vessels that showcases the textural medium he works in.
