June Silverberg (1934-2024) was a devoted painter and member of the Bowery Gallery. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she studied at Brooklyn College and then with Josef Albers at Yale. She also attended the Art Students League and Pratt Institute. Silverberg's career developed as modernism took hold and she maintained her representational focus as abstraction became the dominant movement in art. She joined the Bowery Gallery in 1979 and had her first solo show in 1983.
